View full sized The Toyota Prius Hybrid Electric Car

Electric cars and hybrid cars review, new electric cars, hybrid electric cars, and electric sports cars, hybrid and dual fuel.

Two of the most popular electric cars are the G-Wiz and the Mega City. These are compact, environmentally friendly and exempt from road tax and congestion charging, but they don’t look very nice and are not very comfortable.

But all that is about to change, Mitsubishi have a great new electric car that will soon be on the road and Tesla in the US have an electric sports car that can do 0-60 in 4 seconds and a top speed of 135mph.

Renault of France has said it will be the first to mass produce electric cars and will launch them in European countries by 2011 and the big German companies Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW now want to launch electric cars and have some catching up to do but they are hard at it.

Another option is the hybrid electric car, this uses a conventional engine and an electric engine so that when the batteries for the electric engine need recharging the conventional engine takes over and recharges them, this still means that you need fuel but a lot less of it.

Two of the most popular hybrid cars are the Toyota Prius and Toyota Camry, the hybrid Prius is very popular in the UK and is now a common sight.

German expert Ferdinand Dudenhoeffer said that by 2025, all cars sold in Europe would be either hybrids or electric.
